vento ludens have successfully completed its first wind farm in Scotland in December 2013. The construction of the two Enercon E70 turbines at Muirake Farm, Aberdeenshire, was accomplished at the end of November. On the 13th of December both turbines started feeding electricity into the Distribution Grid.

The wind farm has an installed capacity of 4.6 MW. It consists of two Enercon E-70 turbines, which have a hub height of 64 metres and a rotor diameter of 70 metres. With roughly 12,000 MWh, the wind farm will generate enough clean energy to meet an average consumption of about 4000 households.

The extremely satisfied project manager, Daniel Rafferty commented that “it is a great feeling to see our first wind turbines built in Scotland. This is the culmination of four years of hard work. Although at times the weather conditions were challenging, the installation team made a sterling effort to erect the turbines on schedule.”

On a final note, we would like to thank everyone who has helped make this project a success.
