vento ludens Limited is extremely pleased to announce their sponsorship of the Scottish athlete Meggan Dawson-Farrell. Meggan is a Para athlete, competing in wheelchair racing where it is generally speaking, extremely hard to receive funding for training and competition.

Training has been on the up and up, with the focus being to secure a place on Team Scotland for the Commonwealth Games next April in Australia.

I was fortunate to be able to spend 2 weeks marathon training with the Swiss wheelchair racing team out in Switzerland during November.

The Dubai marathon was on Friday 26th of January. The race went off at 5.50am whilst it was still dark. My race went really well, finishing in 4th place with a new personal best time of 2 hours and 41 seconds.

I have a busy season ahead with British championships starting in late April as well as the London marathon. In May it is the international Paralympic committee world meet in Switzerland. This is part of 3 large race meets taking place over 2weeks. Athletes from all over the world will be competing to chase new world rankings and records. The aim is for selection from their home country’s to compete for their home nations at international championships.

About Meggan

Meggan (born 1992) was born with spina bifida, a fault in the spinal column in which one or more vertebrae fail to form properly, causing damage to the nervous system and leading to limited mobility. Overcoming such a huge physical obstacle has made Meggan the strong, successful sportswoman she is today with high ambitions which vento ludens wants to support.
